The design was inspired by the many natural features which combine to form the landscape of Perthshire within which lies the huge catchment area of the hospital. Perthshire boasts hundreds of kilometres of freshwater river, most of which flow into the River Tay. This great river is the focal point the design, and the Tay and its tributaries form a reference point around which many familiar landmarks are woven, from castles to crags, from fishing to forests.
