The Dunblane Memorial Window; Holy Family Church, Dunblane; 1998 – 3 lights, each 0.6m x 2.3m
Here the theme is the triumph of light over darkness, of good over evil. The left window is sombre, its mood suggesting winter and darkness. From this window a flight of doves is borne upon the wind towards the light. Each dove represents one of the children who lost their lives and from its tail flows a trail of bright colour, a symbol of individuality. Each dove can also be identified by the special flower it carries. The centre window is predominantly green, the colour of spring and new life, and the colours get lighter and brighter suggesting a journey from darkness into light. In the right window, the greens merge into a blaze of golden light, symbolising the welcoming Holy Spirit.
